The third edition of the Libya Energy and Economy Summit 2025 kicks-off.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, January 18, 2024 (LANA) - The third edition of the Libya Energy and Economy Summit 2025 kicked off today, Saturday, in the capital, Tripoli, with the participation of (30) countries, (250) international companies, and about (1500) specialists in the fields of energy and economy.
The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, during his opening of the summit - in the presence of the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Brent - stressed Libya's commitment to supporting the energy sector as a primary driver of the national economy, pointing to the efforts made by his government to overcome the difficulties facing the oil and gas sector, as crude oil production today reached 1,413,372 barrels per day, with gas production recording 210,586 barrels equivalent per day.
The summit's agenda, in which major companies such as Total Energy, British Petroleum (BP), Repsol of Spain and OMV of Austria participate, includes scientific sessions and specialized workshops, in which experts and researchers participate to discuss challenges and opportunities in the energy sector, with the aim of enhancing innovation in technical and regulatory fields, as well as providing a platform for exchanging knowledge and expertise, which contributes to developing effective strategies to address global changes in the energy market.
