NOC Chairman Farhat Bengdara resigns, PM agrees to resignation

Tripoli, January 16, 2025 (LANA) - The head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, approved, on Thursday, the resignation of the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Farhat Bengdara, from his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation.
The National Oil Corporation said in a statement that the head of the Government of National Unity assigned the member of the Board of Directors of the Corporation, Engineer Masoud Suleiman Musa, to assume the duties of Chairman of the Board of Directors temporarily, until the upcoming meeting of the Council of Ministers to take a decision to form a new Board of Directors.
The Corporation indicated in its statement that "Farhat Bengdara" submitted his resignation due to urgent health conditions that prevented him from performing his duties and responsibilities in the best possible way.
The Corporation affirmed its full commitment to continue working to ensure the stability of the oil sector and enhance its role as a fundamental pillar of the national economy.
