Al-Baour discusses with Berndt the latest political developments in Libya

Tripoli, January 16, 2025 (LANA) - The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, "Taher Al-Baour", discussed today, Thursday, with the Chargé d'Affairs of the United States Embassy in Libya, "Jeremy Berndt", the latest developments in the political situation in Libya, in addition to exchanging views on the latest developments on the local scene, and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

The media office of the ministry reported that "Al-Baour" stressed during the meeting the support of the Government of National Unity for efforts to strengthen the political path in the country, and the importance of intensifying national and international efforts to achieve our aspirations in building a prosperous democratic state. For his part, Mr. Brent expressed his country's continued support for achieving peace and stability in Libya, which contributes to achieving the Libyan people's vision for a better future.

In turn, "Berndt" described - in a tweet published by the US embassy on its account on X - his meeting with Al-Baour as very good, and said, "We discussed bilateral cooperation between the United States and Libya, the latest regional developments, and our full and joint support for efforts to push the political process forward."
