Tripoli, January 15, 2025 (LANA) - Member of the High National Elections Commission, "Rabab Halab", discussed today, Wednesday, with the Political Advisor of the British Embassy in Libya, "Nicollette Baker", ways to enhance cooperation to support women's empowerment in the field of elections.

The media office of the Commission stated that the meeting addressed enhancing the leadership skills of Libyan women, and developing electoral awareness programs that aim to increase their participation in the electoral process.

He explained that "Nicollette" praised the tireless efforts made by the Women's Support Unit in the Commission to enhance the role of Libyan women in political life, stressing the importance of initiatives that aim to create an environment that encourages women's active participation in elections and enables them to reach the ballot boxes in the best conditions.

The two sides stressed during the meeting the need to continue enhancing international cooperation to provide technical and material support for programs that contribute to women's empowerment, as part of the international community's commitment to supporting Libya's stability and supporting its democratic transition process.
