Berndt Meets with Khaled Haftar.

Benghazi, 15 January 2025 (Lana) Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Berndt, met with Lieutenant General Khaled Haftar in Benghazi.

Berndt said in a tweet yesterday, “I had a good exchange with Lieutenant General Khaled Haftar. We reviewed U.S. engagements with Libyan military officers from both the east and west.”

“We also discussed how the United States can best support Libyan efforts to unify military institutions and strengthen the capacity of professional security forces across Libya,” he added.
