Dabaiba follows up on plans to develop the National Museum
Pulbished on:Tripoli, January 7, 2025 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, "Abdul Hamid Dabaiba", followed up on the work plan of the Antiquities Authority and the conditions of archaeological cities in Libya, in addition to the plans to develop the National Museum, after completing the approved development plan.
This came during his meeting today, Tuesday, with the Chairman of the Antiquities Authority Management Committee, a number of committee members, and directors of relevant departments, to review the proposed plan to maintain the historic Red Palace building, with the aim of preserving it and transforming it into a cultural space, with the removal of administrative offices from it.
The Prime Minister's media office reported that "Dabaiba" stressed - during the meeting - the file of returning Libyan artifacts smuggled abroad - the need to intensify national and international efforts to recover them, considering that they represent an important part of Libya's cultural and historical identity.
"Dabaiba" reiterated the commitment of the Government of National Unity to support projects aimed at protecting the Libyan cultural heritage, and developing the infrastructure of archaeological sites and museums, in a way that enhances the cultural tourism sector and contributes to highlighting Libya's history.
