Military Region - West Coast announces Security takeover for (Zawiya Refinery)

Tripoli, January 7, 2025 (LANA) - The Military Region - West Coast announced today, Tuesday, that it has taken over security for the Zawiya Oil Refining Company (Zawiya Refinery).

The region explained in a post on its official page that it has begun to strengthen its presence by placing military positions in the region, and directly securing it.

The forces of the Military Region of the West Coast had carried out qualitative operations targeting fuel smuggling dens in the region, including carrying out a precise air strike targeting a site used for fuel smuggling on the Bin Youssef Road, south of the city of Zawiya.

The Military Region of the West Coast confirmed its continuation in combating smuggling and organized crime, calling on citizens to avoid suspicious sites for their safety.
