Stephanie Khoury renews UN mission’s commitment to supporting Libyan women’s participation in the political process

Tripoli, January 6, 2025 (LANA) - The Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Khoury, discussed with representatives of civil society from various parts of Libya the challenges facing women and civil society actors.
During the meeting, Khoury stressed the commitment of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya to support women's participation in the political process, according to what the mission published on its website.
The civil society representatives stressed the urgent need to unify political and security institutions, promote human rights, including combating violence against women, and ensure women's effective participation in decision-making centers.
