The Libyan Political Science Association organizes a simulation session for the House of Representatives in Benghazi
Pulbished on:Benghazi, January 2, 2025 (LANA) - The Libyan Political Science Association organized, today, Thursday, a simulation session for the House of Representatives at the Council's headquarters in Benghazi, in the presence of a number of representatives.
The simulation session was attended by members of the House of Representatives "Ibrahim Al-Zaghid, Intisar Sheneeb" and Deputy Head of the House of Representatives "Rasmi Balrouin", with the participation of members of the association from professors and students of political science departments.
In his speech, Al-Zaghid praised the efforts made during the preparatory meetings to make this session a success, stressing the importance of such activities in enhancing community participation and developing the legislative process.
For his part, Deputy Head of the Council's Council, Rasmi Balrouin, stressed that the House of Representatives is the first legislative body in the country, pointing to the importance of academic and research activities in developing institutional performance.
He explained that the simulation session is a major step towards bringing parliamentary concepts closer to young people, stressing the keenness of the Council's Council to support such initiatives by providing logistical, advisory and financial support to ensure the achievement of the desired goals.
The simulation session began with attendance and absence procedures, which were handled by the session rapporteur, and included a visual presentation explaining the mechanism for selecting the speaker of the simulated parliament and his first and second deputies, followed by organizing speeches by the members of the simulated parliament, who formed various committees including the Health Committee, the Youth Committee, the Defense and National Security Committee, and the Media Committee.
In a statement to Al-Anbaa Al-Libiyyah newspaper, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Political Science Association, Hafez Al-Tawati, expressed his thanks to the House of Representatives and its Diwan for providing the opportunity to organize this session.
He explained that the main objective of the session is to enhance cooperation between academic institutions and governmental institutions, and to prepare a generation of leaders capable of strategic planning and finding practical solutions.
