Upcoming Presidential Summit for Libya, Algeria, and Tunisia in Tripoli.

Algiers, 2 January 2025 (Lana)—Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf revealed the start of preparations to hold the 3rd summit within the tripartite mechanism with Libya and Tunisia in Tripoli at the beginning of this year.

In a press conference dedicated to reviewing the activity of Algerian diplomacy during 2024, Attaf affirmed coordination with Libya and Tunisia to prepare for the 3rd summit to be held in Tripoli this month.

Attaf noted that his country’s proposal to establish a tripartite mechanism for consultation was approved and involved Libya and Tunisia, where meetings were held, resulting in actual cooperation projects to address the problems that directly concern these countries.

The leaders of Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya had agreed to hold a "tripartite Maghreb meeting" every three months, during the first summit held in Algeria on the sidelines of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum last February.

Last April, Tunisia hosted the second tripartite summit, attended by the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and Tunisian President Kais Saied.
