Opening customs points and combating smuggling in the Jufra areas.

Jufra 31 December 2024 (Lana) The meeting held at the Jufra Municipal Council discussed the possibility of establishing customs sites in the municipality and reactivating the work of the Drug Smuggling Control Department and the Postal Parcels Office.

The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Jufra, Saeed Qrinqo, the Head of the Sirte International Airport Customs Center, Lieutenant Colonel, Miftah Bosta, and the Head of the Drug and Smuggling Control Department in Jufra, Lieutenant Colonel , Boussif Al-Ghazali.

The mayor stated that all necessary measures will be taken, in particular due to the important geographical distance of the region, as it is located in the middle of the country, and the necessity of having an effective customs point that facilitates all procedures related to customs and the transportation of individuals, travelers, goods, etc.

Qrinqo said that establishing a customs point in Jufra Municipality is an important step to facilitate the movement of individuals from pilgrims and provide means of transportation and air ambulance for critical medical cases for citizens of Jufra Municipality as a first step to activate the rest of the competencies of other customs departments.
