Al-Lafi discusses with Orlando strengthening the partnership between Libya and the European Union

Tripoli, December 30, 2024 (LANA) - Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs in the Government of National Unity, Walid Al-Lafi, discussed today, Monday, with the European Union Representative in Libya, Nicola Orlando, strengthening the partnership between Libya and the European Union within an intensive work plan for the year 2025.

The meeting discussed - according to our government platform - the importance of supporting the existence of a unified disbursement mechanism with the aim of enhancing transparency and oversight and ending parallel spending, and reviewing the results of the recent meetings held by the European Union with the Joint Economic Group and the Joint Military Committee (5+5) and the impact of regional conditions on Libya and regional files of common interest.

During the meeting, the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs renewed the vision of the Government of National Unity on the necessity of going directly to elections with the aim of ending all transitional stages.
