Tripoli, December 24, 2024 (LANA) - The Head of the European Union Mission in Libya, "Nicola Orlando", held a phone call yesterday, Monday, with the Head of the Audit Bureau, "Khaled Shakshak", discussing with him the pivotal role of the Bureau in ensuring accountability in the management of public resources.

"Orlando" said in a tweet on X that he stressed during the phone call the European Union's close interest in current developments in close coordination with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.

He also stressed that transparency, oversight and protecting the independence of the Bureau from interference are among the main priorities.
