Al-Haddad calls for continuing cooperation and coordination between the intelligence services of Libya's neighboring countries.

Tripoli, 22 December 2024 (Lana) The Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Haddad, called for continuing cooperation and coordination between the intelligence services of Libya's neighboring countries to confront common security challenges.

This came in a remark during his participation in the opening of the first conference of military intelligence leaders of Libya's neighboring countries held in Tripoli, in the presence of official delegations from "Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, Chad, and Niger", according to the official page of the General Staff of the Libyan Army.

"Al-Haddad" stressed that this conference is of great importance to discuss the security challenges facing Libya with neighboring countries from terrorism, organized crime, humanitarian crises, and other challenges that threaten the security of the entire region.

The first day of the conference, which was attended by the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense for Regions and Military Affairs, the Assistant Chief of Staff, the Director of the Military Intelligence Department, and a number of Libyan army officers, witnessed intensive discussions on mechanisms to enhance regional partnership and develop plans for practical security and intelligence coordination between neighboring countries, with the aim of laying the foundations for future cooperation in confronting common security challenges.

The heads of the participating delegations also expressed their appreciation for Libya's initiative to host the conference, stressing the importance of enhancing regional cooperation to confront common threats, including combating terrorism, controlling borders, and confronting smuggling networks that affect the security and stability of neighboring countries.
