MOF hosts the first meeting of the Libyan-German consultations.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 19 December 2024 (Lana) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the first meeting of the Libyan-German consultations, which was held within the framework of implementing a memorandum of understanding signed between the ministry and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), affiliated with the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The meeting was chaired by the Director of the International Cooperation Department, Ashraf Al-Taib, in the presence of the Libyan Ambassador to Germany, Jamal Al-Barq, the Director of the General Protocol Department, Al-Taher Hussein, and the person in charge of the German file, Muhammad Suwaid, in addition to a number of specialists and officials of the international cooperation offices in the Libyan ministries. From the German side, the German Ambassador to Libya, Ralph Tarraf; the Director of Africa at the (BMZ), Christopher Rau; and a number of representatives of the German Embassy, the Federal Ministry, and the (GIZ).
The ministry stated that the meeting comes within the framework of ongoing discussions and consultations between the Government of National Unity and Libya's development partners on strengthening cooperation frameworks and following up and evaluating joint projects implemented in the areas of decentralization, renewable energy, women and youth participation, and improving health services.
