Libya regains full membership in OPCW.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 17 December 2024 (Lana)—Libya regained its full membership in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and its right to vote after ten years of suspension.
This came after a meeting at the headquarters of the International Committee for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague, in which Libya participated, represented by the National Authority for the Follow-up of the Implementation of the Chemical and Nuclear Weapons Conventions.
The GNU-Ministry of Defense said on its Facebook page today, “This achievement came as a result of the efforts of the officials of the GNU and with the support of the report of the investigation inspectors after their announced visit to the Al-Rabita Pharmaceutical Industries Factory from November 11 to 15.”
It added that Libya's return to this organization contributes to strengthening its international position and confirms its credibility.
