Tripoli, December 12, 2024 (LANA) - Today, Thursday, the Deputy Special Representatives of the Secretary-General, Stephanie Khoury and Ines Tchoma, met with African ambassadors and representatives to discuss the latest developments in Libya.

The mission stated via its Facebook account that "Khoury" reviewed during the meeting the main elements of the political process facilitated by the United Nations, which aims to overcome the current stalemate and pave the way for national elections.

For his part, "Tchoma" provided a briefing on the United Nations' support for development throughout Libya and humanitarian assistance to refugees and irregular migrants. The UN mission added that the discussions touched on the need for effective disarmament, demobilization and reintegration, border management and support for Sudanese refugees.
