Tripoli, 12 December 2024 (Lana) Acting Head of the UNSMIL, Stephanie Koury, met today with the Japanese Ambassador to Libya, Izuru Shimmura.
The UNSMIL said in a tweet that Koury and Shimmura discussed the current political, security, and economic dynamics in Libya and UNSMIL's efforts to revitalize the political process.
They also discussed the next steps towards greater stability and inclusive elections.
Koury expressed appreciation for Japan's steadfast support of UNSMIL efforts, including as a member of the Security Council.
