Tripoli, 12 December 2024 (Lana)— Acting Head of the UNSMIL, Stephanie Koury, in her meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea. Jehak Jang reviewed the current political situation in Libya and her intensified consultations with Libyan and international stakeholders to revitalize the political process, including economic reforms for the benefit of all people of Libya.

The ambassador highlighted his country’s commitment to supporting UNSMIL’s efforts to preserve stability in Libya, including in its role as a member of the Security Council.

Koury also held a meeting with the Ambassador of Malta, Charles Saliba, and they exchanged views on the current situation in Libya and on elements of the UN-facilitated political process.

They agreed on the importance of unifying institutions and paving the way to national elections.
