Koury meets with Zubi and Trabelsi.

Tripoli, 11 December 2024 (Lana) Acting Head of the UNSMIL, Stephanie Koury, held a meeting yesterday with Deputy Minister of Defense Brigadier General Abdel Salam Zubi.

The mission said on its official website that Koury and Zubi discussed the key elements of the political process, and they agreed on the importance of maintaining stability and supporting the unification of Libya’s military institutions, as well as they agreed to continue close coordination at the technical level moving forward.

Koury also met with the GNU Acting Minister of Interior, Emad Trabelsi, to discuss elements of the UN-facilitated political process aimed at overcoming the current impasse and ensuring the holding of national elections as soon as possible.

They discussed the need for preserving security and stability and the ministry’s effort to strengthen law and order across Tripoli and other cities, including anti-crime and countering human trafficking efforts.
