Tripoli, December 8, 2024 (LANA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity issued a statement affirming Libya's full alignment with the demands and aspirations of the Syrian people for freedom and justice and its principled support for their revolution.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed in its statement the hope of the State of Libya that these developments would constitute a real start towards building a civil, democratic state that fulfills the hopes of the Syrians and achieves justice for all citizens of the country. It affirmed its steadfast support for the legitimate struggle of the Syrians against tyranny, considering that this stage is the culmination of a long struggle for dignity and freedom.

The statement stressed the need to ensure the return of Syrian refugees and displaced persons to their homes with dignity and safety, in a way that guarantees the protection of their rights and enhances the path of just national reconciliation that does not overlook their sacrifices.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also called in its statement for the importance of creating appropriate conditions that allow them to participate effectively in the reconstruction of their country, in a way that contributes to achieving prosperity and development for a free and just Syria.

 The statement renewed Libya's full support for the just demands of the Syrian people and its principled support for their revolution against tyranny, stressing that this stage represents an opportunity to achieve the aspirations of the Syrians for freedom and dignity, and to build a secure and stable future for Syria and the entire region.
