Saleh and (Khoury) agree to form a unified government

Al-Qubba, December 2, 2024 (LANA) - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, "Aguila Saleh", and the Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, "Stephanie Khoury", agreed on the necessity of unifying the executive authority and forming a unified government to move forward towards organizing presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible.

This came during the meeting held between them today, Monday, in the city of Al-Qubba, according to what was published by the media center of the Speaker of the House of Representatives on its official page on Facebook.

During the meeting, "Saleh" reiterated the necessity of continuing cooperation and communication with the United Nations mission and the international community, and the House of Representatives' commitment to the political agreement and the outcomes of the 6+6 Committee and everything that would end the political division.

For her part, "Khoury" stressed her continuous and serious efforts to rebuild trust between the various parties by bringing viewpoints closer together.
