Tripoli, 2 December 2024 (Lana) U.S. Special Envoy Ambassador Richard Norland said that a fully successful political transition in Libya will depend on the engagement of all parts of Libyan society.
This came in a tweet by the U.S. Embassy today.
“"Chargé d'Affaires Jeremy Berndt and I were very pleased to have the opportunity to speak with a distinguished network of women activists, academics, legal scholars, and a female member of the security sector who are committed to increasing women's political participation across the country,” Norland says.
“Amid the ongoing UN-led 16 days of activism to combat violence against women and girls, we commend the network for their efforts to address this serious issue, which is one of the root causes of the political marginalization of women,” he added.
