The Prime Minister's media office stated that the meeting discussed the ongoing stages at the airport and future plans for the two projects.
The head of the Transport Projects Implementation Authority, "Sami Al-Abash", confirmed during the meeting that work is proceeding at an accelerated pace to complete the current station, which will have a capacity of 6 million passengers annually with a total area of 30 thousand square meters, twice the size of the previous airport, and the project will be completed by the first half of 2025.
According to the media office, "Dabaiba" was briefed on the executive plans for the second station of the airport, which will accommodate 10 million passengers annually, and will be equipped with 16 moving gates and 80 platforms for travel procedures, an expansion of aircraft parking lots and the completion of the new control tower.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of starting the implementation of the second station at the beginning of next year, and focusing on adopting the latest technologies in the airport sector and ensuring the implementation of the project according to the highest international quality standards, reflecting Libya's aspirations to develop its infrastructure and enhance air transport services.
