Tripoli, November 25, 2024 (LANA) - The European Union Mission in Libya called on the House of Representatives to adopt the law on the elimination of violence against women, which was approved by its legislative committee on January 18, 2024, as the world celebrates the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The head of the mission, Ambassador "Nicola Orlando", confirmed in a post on his account on X the commitment of Europe and the European member states to support Libya to protect women and girls from this global scourge.

The European Union Mission announced today, Monday, the launch of the annual 16-day campaign of activity to join Libyan citizens and institutions that stand against all forms of violence against women.
