Minister of Local Government signs a MoU with the Minister of Decentralization of Djibouti.
Pulbished on:Tripoli 21 November 2024 (Lana) GNU-Minister of Local Government, Badr Al-Toumi, signed with the Minister of Decentralization of Djibouti, Qasim Haroun, in Tripoli a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and cooperation in the area of local administration.
The signing was attended by the Minister of Housing and Construction, Abu Bakr Al-Ghawi, the Minister of Youth, Fathallah Al-Zani, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Local Administration, Nasr Al-Mahtout, and a number of directors of departments and offices in the Ministry of Local Government.
The memorandum aims to activate the frameworks of joint cooperation between the two countries in the area of local administration and to develop capabilities and exchange experiences between specialized training centers in the area of local development by preparing training programs for leaders and cadres of local administration in various specializations related to local affairs at the level of workers in various components of local administration in the two countries.
It also aims to organize international conferences and workshops in the areas of decentralization and issues related to local administration, organize mutual visits between the training centers of the two countries for the purpose of learning about the different experiences in the area of providing services related to local affairs, and establish a permanent mechanism for cooperation between the two parties by forming a permanent joint committee between them to consolidate fruitful and continuous cooperation and consultation, in accordance with the principle of joint cooperation, consolidating the principle of decentralization, achieving sustainable local development, and achieving the goals of the development plan in light of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
