During his meeting with a delegation of dignitaries from Al-Sa'yan and Al-Hararat, Dabaiba stressed the importance of unifying national efforts.

Tripoli, November 13, 2024 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, met on Wednesday evening at the Cabinet Office with a delegation of dignitaries from Al-Sa'yan and Al-Hararat, in the presence of a number of directors of executive institutions in the municipalities of Al-Zawiya Al-Janub and Batin Al-Jabal.

The meeting was devoted, according to the Prime Minister's media office, to discussing a number of issues of Libyan public affairs, in addition to following up on the services provided to the municipalities.

Dabaiba stressed during the meeting the importance of unifying national efforts by dignitaries, social and political leaders, municipal councils, and others, with the aim of reaching parliamentary and presidential elections according to fair and honest electoral laws, and a referendum on the constitution that will regulate the framework of the relationship between Libyans.

The Prime Minister stressed the approach of the Government of National Unity to activate Law No. 59 regarding the activation of local administration, and the transfer of sectoral competencies to municipalities to bring services closer to citizens.

 The heads of the executive bodies reviewed a number of ongoing projects in the municipalities and those targeted for implementation during 2025.

Dabaiba directed the need to complete water supply and sanitation projects and give them priority in the upcoming development plan.

For their part, the notables stressed in their speeches the need to end the transitional stages and bring the country to elections, and give all Libyans the opportunity to determine their fate, according to the media office.

The notables thanked the Prime Minister for his interest in activating the role of local administration and its competencies, which contributes to achieving stability.
