Abdullah Al-Lafi meets the European Union Ambassador to Libya
Pulbished on:Tripoli, November 4, 2024 (LANA) - Deputy of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, discussed today, Monday, in Tripoli, with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, "Nicola Orlando", joint relations and developments in the political scene in Libya.
The meeting also discussed ways to support the political process in Libya, and the efforts of the Presidential Council to end the political stalemate, and support the participation of all parties in the political process, to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people, to reach the electoral entitlements.
"Al-Lafi" appreciated the European Union's support for a peaceful solution to the Libyan crisis, and achieving permanent stability in the country.
For his part, the European Ambassador welcomed the progress made in resolving the Central Bank crisis, pointing to the need to continue efforts to support the political process.
The Ambassador affirmed the European Union's strong support for the Presidential Council's efforts to advance a comprehensive and inclusive political process that addresses the main drivers of the conflict and paves the way for free and transparent elections.
Orlando also affirmed the European Union's support for the steps taken in the national reconciliation project.
