Pulbished on:Tripoli, November 3, 2024 (LANA) - The Minister of Housing and Construction in the Government of National Unity, "Abu Bakr Al-Ghawi", discussed today, Sunday, with German and international companies, plans to develop the cities of Tripoli and Benghazi.
The media office of the ministry stated that the meeting comes within the framework of the government's efforts to develop the infrastructure, enhance urban planning, and improve the infrastructure of the city of Tripoli as the first phase of a project that will include 20 Libyan cities.
He explained that the efforts focused on developing 8 main sectors in Tripoli, from preparing general plans to sewage, water and electricity networks, and an ambitious plan for the "Tripoli 2050" project to establish a smart city.
According to the media office, the meeting discussed comprehensive plans to develop Greater Benghazi, and the international company "WSP" presented plans in line with the development vision and include infrastructure for areas extending over an area of 35 thousand hectares.
The national government confirmed, through these international partnerships, its commitment to achieving sustainable development and improving the quality of life for citizens in various Libyan cities.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Housing and Utilities Projects Authority and the Chairman of the Management Committee of the Urban Planning Authority.
