The French Embassy welcomes the announcement of the date for holding municipal elections in Libya

Tripoli, October 30, 2024 (LANA) - The French Embassy in Libya announced on Wednesday its joining the UN mission's announcement welcoming the announcement of the Electoral Commission on the date of the municipal elections for 58 municipalities, which will be held on November 16.

The embassy stated in a statement on its Facebook page that this stage is a decisive step in political life to allow Libyan citizens to elect their leaders at the local level, and to enhance local governance and democratic practice.

The embassy affirmed its continued support for the High National Electoral Commission and its technical cooperation, calling on all parties to work so that these elections are held in the best conditions, especially security.
