During his meeting with the mayors of the southern and eastern regions, Dabaiba confirms the government's continued activation of local administration.

Tripoli, October 22, 2024 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, stressed during his meeting with the mayors of the southern and eastern regions on Tuesday evening, the government's continuation in activating local administration and implementing Law No. 59, which aims to provide services to citizens in their areas.

Dabaiba stressed in his speech to the mayors of municipalities, according to the Prime Minister's media office, the continuation of transferring sectoral competencies according to readiness, and signing the necessary minutes between the sectors and the Ministry of Local Government.

The Prime Minister directed the executive agencies to focus on water and sanitation projects, given the urgent need for them in the municipalities that have been neglected for many years, pointing to the need to eliminate tin and dilapidated schools, and provide an appropriate educational environment, while giving priority to these issues in development plans.

Dabaiba also stressed, according to the media office, the need to unify national efforts to complete the constitution and hold a referendum on it, to reach legislative and presidential elections that will be the basic pillar for building the nation and its stability.

In a speech delivered by the Mayor of Al-Qatrun on behalf of the mayors of the municipalities, he stressed their support for the efforts of the Government of National Unity in strengthening local administration, through the decisions regulating the transfer of sectoral competencies and implementing a number of urgent and important development projects.

The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Local Government and State for Cabinet Affairs, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Government, and a number of directors of departments and offices in the ministry, in addition to the directors of the development and development agencies of administrative centers, the implementation of housing and utilities projects, and the implementation of transportation projects.

The meeting included the mayors of the municipalities of the southern and eastern regions (Ubari, Ghat, Umm Al-Razm, Al-Abraq, Al-Bayda, Wardama, Sabha Al-Mukalif, Tijarhi, Zillah, Derna, Jalu, Omar Al-Mukhtar, Sahel Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar, Al-Barakat, Barqan, Al-Gharifa, Zuwaila, Ras Al-Hilal, Wadi Atba, Marada, Al-Sharqiya, Wadi Al-Buwanis, Al-Qatrun, Bintabiyah, Idri Al-Shati, Taraghen, Antlat Al-Baydan, Al-Jawf Al-Gharbi, Al-Zawitina, and Sultan).
