The House of Representatives delegation rejects the Zionist entity's speech in Geneva and withdraws from the hall.
Pulbished on:Geneva, October 18, 2024 (LANA) - Member of the House of Representatives Rabia Abu Ras confirmed that the Libyan delegation participating in the meetings of the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva immediately withdrew from the hall as soon as the Zionist entity's delegation began its speech.
Abu Ras explained in press statements that the Libyan delegation, in coordination with the Arab and Islamic countries, participated in a preparatory meeting headed by the Algerian delegation, where it was agreed to support the Palestinian proposal in the emergency item, and the Libyan delegation voted in favor of this proposal and rejected the rest of the proposals.
The representative added that all Arab and Islamic countries withdrew from the hall while the Zionist entity was presenting its proposal in the voting session, and only the countries supporting the entity and some countries claiming neutrality remained.
She stressed that this measure came to confirm Libya's firm position in supporting the Palestinian cause and rejecting all forms of aggression.
Abu Ras expressed her pride in the position of the members of the Libyan House of Representatives who were in the front lines to defend Gaza and the Palestinian people, stressing that the House of Representatives will continue to support the Palestinian cause by all available means.
Abu Ras said that the House of Representatives intends to file a complaint with the Attorney General against Abdul Salam Al Rajhi, accusing him of falsifying the facts and inciting public opinion against the Libyan delegation.
