“We reject negative foreign interference in Libya and reiterate our support for any political solution that ends its crisis,” Chinese Chargé d'Affaires says.

Tripoli 15 October 2024 (Lana) The Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Libya, Liu Jian, said that the Libyan-Chinese relations are going through very positive conditions.

In a statement to the Libyan News Agency, Liu Jian affirmed that this was represented in the last visits of a number of ministers and Libyan officials, the visit of the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, and his meeting with the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, on the sidelines of the (China-Africa) Summit held in Beijing last September to discuss building a strategic partnership between the two countries.

Jian stated that the visit of Libyan officials to his country is important to support and strengthen bilateral relations in various areas between the two friendly countries.

Jian expressed his country’s aspiration to establish an inclusive strategic partnership with Libya and to enhance cooperation with it in all vital areas, stressing his country’s readiness to provide all forms of support and cooperation during the coming period.

Regarding the possibility of resuming the Embassy’s work from Tripoli, Liu Jian said that meetings were recently held with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss the security and logistical arrangements required for the return of the Embassy’s work from Tripoli.

Liu Jian affirmed China’s readiness to make all efforts to find a sustainable political solution to the Libyan crisis through dialogues and negotiations, reiterating his country’s rejection of the foreign interference in Libya.

Jian said that his country has a historical friendship with Libya, and its position of supporting development and peace in Libya and enhancing friendly bilateral cooperation based on mutual respect will not change.
