Dabaiba follows up with Shakshak and Bengdara on energy sector development projects.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, October 14, 2024 (LANA) - The meeting held today, Monday, in Tripoli, which included the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, the Chairman of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, Farhat Bengdara, and the Chairman of the Libyan Investment Authority, was devoted to developing the energy sector.
According to the media office of the Prime Minister, the meeting was attended by the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, and the directors of the departments of control over the sovereign sector, energy and public companies, investments and banks.
During the meeting, a number of investment projects were discussed to develop the energy sector and increase production in the fields of oil and gas, with a focus on following up on the legal and technical procedures to complete the activation of the Ras Lanuf refinery after purchasing the foreign partner's share, which has been suspended since 2013, and the need to develop the dilapidated transport pipelines to keep pace with the Corporation's plan to increase production.
The meeting discussed the mechanism for paying fuel for the year 2025, setting controls for quantities and supply mechanisms, and dealing with this file, and discussing the activation of the Bab Tripoli investment project, given its importance in improving the services provided to citizens, according to the controls proposed by the Audit Bureau, with an emphasis on increasing transparency and disclosure in all contracting procedures related to the oil sector.
