Pulbished on:Benghazi, October 12, 2024 (LANA) - A four-storey building collapsed in Al-Salam neighborhood in Benghazi, yesterday, Friday, resulting in the injury of two people of Egyptian nationality.
Municipal Guard patrols headed to the accident site, closed the adjacent street and removed citizens from the dangerous area, while rescue teams began the search and assessment of the damage caused by the collapse.
The head of the Municipal Guard Patrols Department, Colonel Salah Al-Sahli, confirmed to the Libyan Al-Anbaa newspaper: Initial investigations indicate that the cause of the collapse is due to serious construction errors committed by the owners of the building, who are Egyptian nationals.
He added that the competent authorities arrested the accused and referred them to the Investigation and Compliance Unit of the Municipal Guard, explaining that the accident resulted in the injury of two Egyptians, who were transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment.
