Al-Nuwairi discusses with the US Chargé d'Affaires the latest developments in the political crisis in Libya.
Pulbished on:Benghazi, October 7, 2024 (LANA) - The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, "Fawzi Al-Nuwairi", discussed today, Monday, at the Council's office in Benghazi, with the Chargé d'Affairs of the US Embassy in Libya, "Jeremy Berndt", the latest developments in the political crisis in Libya.
During the meeting, according to the Council's spokesman, Abdullah Blihaq, the latest developments in the political crisis in Libya were discussed, as well as ways to push towards holding presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible, and reaching a solution to the Libyan crisis with Libyan-Libyan efforts and leadership.
The meeting also addressed, according to the spokesman, the necessity of providing assistance and support by the United Nations mission to limit foreign interference in the Libyan crisis, and supporting Libyan-Libyan solutions and agreements, including what recently culminated in the agreement between the House of Representatives and the State Council regarding the selection of the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya and a Deputy Governor.
