An Interpol delegation discusses with the Ministry of Interior efforts to enhance cooperation in combating organized crime and terrorism.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, October 1, 2024 (LANA) - A delegation from the General Secretariat of Interpol visited the Tripoli Seaport and the Mitiga International Airport, where they discussed prospects for cooperation in linking Libyan ports with the International Organization for the Protection of Civilian Persons (IOPOL) within the "Gemini" project, which aims to enhance security and safety on the borders.
On the sidelines of the visit, the head of the International Arab Criminal Police Office, Major General "Noureddine Al-Shaalali", held a meeting with members of the delegation to follow up on the progress of work in the office, identify the problems and difficulties it faces, and develop appropriate solutions for them.
The importance of international cooperation in combating organized crime and terrorism was also reviewed, and the commitment of the Ministry of Interior in the Government of National Unity to strengthen its partnerships with international organizations was emphasized.
For its part, the Interpol delegation expressed its appreciation for the efforts made by the Ministry of Interior in Libya, stressing the importance of the international organization's support for these efforts to achieve security and stability in the country.
