Opening of the Valley Exhibition for Dates and Olives in the Al-Qayerat area.

Al-Qayerat, September 21, 2024 (LANA) - The first session of the Valley Exhibition for Dates and Olives was opened in the Al-Qayerat area in the Al-Gharifa Municipality on Friday.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Mayor and members of the Al-Gharifa Municipality, the deputies in the House of Representatives Fatima Al-Suwaie and Ziyara Al-Suwaih, the Director of the Export Development Center in the Southern Region, Al-Kilani Emhemed, the people of the region, and the exhibitors participating in the exhibition from various regions of southern Libya.

The Director General of the Export Development Center in the Southern Region, Head of the Preparatory Committee, told the correspondent of the Libyan News Agency, that the exhibition aims to highlight the various agricultural resources that the southern region abounds in, which contribute to the self-sufficiency of the local consumer and the export of the surplus abroad.

He added that the exhibition, which will continue for (3) days, will be attended by many exhibitors from farmers and manufacturers of agricultural products, including dates of various types and varieties and olives.

Al-Kilani explained to (LANA,) that the general program of the exhibition will include a scientific program in coordination with faculty members at the Faculty of Agriculture at Sabha University and experts in this field, including lectures focusing on agricultural pesticides and their effects on human health, soil, water, sterilization and pruning of palm and olive trees.
