Tunis, September 18, 2024 (LANA) - The Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, "Jeremy Berndt", revealed that he discussed with the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs in the Government of National Unity, "Adel Jumaa", and "Ibrahim Al-Dbeibah", Advisor to the Prime Minister, the ongoing crisis over the Central Bank of Libya and the urgent need to reach a compromise solution through the mediation of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.

According to a tweet by "Berndt" published by the US Embassy on its account on (X), during this meeting, which was held last night at his residence in Tunisia, the legitimate concerns of many Libyans were discussed regarding the closure of oil fields that affects the resources that belong to the entire Libyan people.

"Berndt" said in the tweet that the technocratic integrity, credibility and legitimacy of the main economic institutions are essential to the prosperity and stability of Libya, noting that for long-term stability and development, the parties concerned must also agree on a transparent and accountable distribution of oil revenues that benefits all parts of Libya.

"I appreciate the opportunity to exchange views on ways to enhance the partnership between Libya and the United States," he added.
