Rome, September 18, 2024 (LANA) - The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, "Stephanie Khoury", discussed today, Wednesday, with the Director-General for Political and Security Affairs at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "Pasquale Ferrara", the successive developments in the Libyan affair in the Italian capital, Rome.

The mission's page on "Facebook" explained that "Khoury" said on her account on "X" that the meeting discussed the ongoing crisis of the Central Bank of Libya and the closure of oil fields.

She indicated that she discussed with the Italian official "various aspects of the political process", and that they stressed "the need for state institutions to be unified and enjoy legitimacy," and "dialogue as the only way to achieve sustainable solutions to the many challenges facing Libya.
