Kofra September 14, 2024 (LANA) - The head of al-Kofra Ambulance and Emergency Service, Ibrahim Balhassan, called on the competent authorities to support it with an additional number of ambulances, due to the large geographical area covered by the service, extending from the borders of Sudan and Chad in the south to a distance of 200 km in the north.

Balhassan explained, in statements to the Libyan Al-Anbaa newspaper, that the service covers the desert area in addition to its tasks inside the city of providing first aid to cases and receiving emergency reports from displaced persons and citizens around the clock, indicating that there are many obstacles facing the service.

It is worth noting, that yesterday, Friday, witnessed a traffic accident involving a vehicle that was transporting displaced persons across the desert to the city of Kofra.

Balhassan explained to Libyan News that the emergency team of al-Kofra Ambulance Service headed to the scene of the accident, which is 270 km south of Kofra, to provide first aid to the injured, whose number reached 14 injured and 3 deaths as a preliminary toll.
