Ministry of Labor discusses with the Embassy of Niger the conditions of Nigerian workers in the Libyan labor market.

Tripoli, 5 September 2024 (Lana), competent departments of the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation discussed yesterday with the Embassy of Niger in Libya the conditions of Nigerian workers in the Libyan labor market.

The communication office of the ministry stated that the meeting came within the framework of regulating the labor market in accordance with Labor Relations Law No. 12 of 2010 and the decisions and legislation regulating work and employment.

It explained that the meeting discussed the situation of Nigerian workers in the Libyan labor market in accordance with the applicable employment controls and the measures taken by the Minister to regulate the labor market and settle the conditions of workers who work without a work permit.

The two parties agreed to hold a scientific and educational seminar for representatives of the Nigerian community at the Institute of Labor Culture in Tripoli, aiming to educate workers about the legal controls for work and employment and to introduce them to the legal methods for settling their conditions in accordance with the procedures of the Ministry and to provide an explanation of the "Wafida" platform and how to use it to organize and register workers.
