Al-Koni: Current bodies cling to power, and the House of Representatives and the State Council have not fulfilled their pledges towards the Libyan people.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, August 14, 2024 (LANA) - Deputy in the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, confirmed that all current bodies cling to power, and the House of Representatives and the State Council have not fulfilled their pledges towards the Libyan people.
Al-Koni said in a press conference held after his visit to the headquarters of the Libyan Center for Archives and Historical Studies in Tripoli today, Wednesday, "The House of Representatives and the State Council were satisfied with taming the Libyan situation in their favor, and deprived the Libyans of access to the ballot boxes'', stressing that all current bodies are clinging to power, and the Parliament and the State Council should have been a role model for the Libyans as they are elected bodies.
Al-Koni added, "We are like the princes of sects, and we have used other countries against each other, and all of us, as Libyan officials and politicians, bear responsibility for the conflict and crises, and we have not been able to end their causes, and Libya is now divided, and what unites Libyans is only a passport and a flag." Regarding the title of Supreme Commander of the Army, Al-Koni said that it is a symbolic title granted to the Presidential Council to prevent war and not to use it in political wars, stressing that the army in the east does not obey the orders of the Presidential Council, and in the west there are groups governed by whims and regionalisms, and that the Presidential Council has the title of Supreme Commander of the Army, but cannot use it.
