This came in a letter to the directors of the branches of the Authority in the Eastern Region and the Oases, the Director of the Civil Defense Department, the Director of the Emergency and Crisis Management Department, the Head of the Shift and Coordination Office, and the Head of the Support and Assistance Center, according to what was stated on the Authority's page on its Facebook page on Sunday.
The letter referred to the National Center for Meteorology's warning of the proliferation of thunderclouds in the aforementioned areas, which are accompanied by rain, especially in the border areas, which may cause some local valleys to flow, as these conditions continue today, Monday, and tomorrow, Tuesday.
The presidency of the Authority called on those addressed in the letter to take all necessary measures and procedures to protect lives and property in all the mentioned areas.
Yesterday, Sunday, the Meteorological Center warned of thunderstorms in the southern regions, especially the border areas with Chad, Sudan and Niger, where record amounts of rain fell on Kufra that the city has not witnessed since 1952.
