Tripoli, August 07, 2024 (LANA) - The investigation authority at the Attorney General's Office ordered the detention of the Minister of Oil in the Government of National Unity and the Director of his Office Affairs on charges of adopting behavior that is inconsistent with job duties.

The Attorney General's Office stated that the Deputy Prosecutor at the Office investigated the defendants' deviation from the requirements of the job assigned to them; The investigator concluded that they were adopting behavior that is inconsistent with job duties, which was represented in threatening the corporate accounting officer to force him to approve a document authorizing the disposal of four hundred and fifty-seven million and six hundred thousand euros for the benefit of a foreign company in violation of the legislation.

The Public Prosecutor's Office stated on its official website that the investigator had decided to detain the accused pending the case.
