Tripoli, August 7, 2024 (Lana): U.S. Special Envoy to Libya Ambassador Richard Norland met with Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Farhat Bengdara, to discuss the current production shutdown at Sharara Field.
"Libya’s oil production is its economic lifeline. Production stoppages hurt all Libyans," Norland said in a tweet.
"The U.S. reaffirms the importance of maintaining the NOC’s independence and technocratic integrity,” he added.
