"Al-Aqouri" stressed during the meeting, which was attended by the Rapporteur of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Council, "Mohamed Tamer", the importance of cooperation in the immigration file and benefiting from Italian support programs in a number of topics, including the coastal road construction project in addition to cooperation in the fishing file.
According to the spokesman for the Council, Abdullah Blihaq, Al-Aqouri stressed his follow-up on the issue of Libyan youth imprisoned in Italy, pointing to the importance of this issue, renewing the keenness of the House of Representatives to enhance coordination with the Italian side on this issue.
For his part, the rapporteur of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Mohamed Tamer, stressed the importance of expanding Italian cooperation programs in the south, especially in the field of agriculture, and the need to open consular services in the city of Sabha to facilitate travel procedures, inviting the Italian consul to visit the south.
In turn, the Italian consul explained, according to the spokesman, his country's efforts to alleviate the immigration crisis through the Mattei plan, expressing his desire to visit the south and cooperate to open a consulate in the city of Sabha, stressing the importance of continuous coordination and strengthening cooperation between the two friendly countries in all fields.
