Dabaiba and Abella are following up on cooperation in combating illegal immigration.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, July 16, 2024 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, received his Maltese counterpart, Robert Abella, and his accompanying delegation today, Tuesday, at the Cabinet Office in the capital, Tripoli.
The media office of the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government said that the two sides held an expanded meeting, in the presence of a number of ministers and officials from both sides, explaining that the meeting discussed following up on the file of cooperation in combating illegal immigration, the exchange of prisoners of citizens of the two countries, and cooperation in the field of combating terrorism, in addition to the energy file, and investment.
The office added that the two sides signed a renewal of the memorandum of understanding between the two governments in the field of combating illegal immigration, and the two parties also agreed to expedite the holding of the meeting of the 28th session of the Libyan-Maltese joint committee headed by the foreign ministers of the two countries, with the aim of activating the memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements in various fields, and setting the legal framework appropriate for it.
