Abu Jannah meets with the Chairman of the Medical Insurance Authority Management Committee.

Tripoli, July 15, 2025 (LANA) - The Deputy Prime Minister of the National Unity Government - Minister of Health, Ramadan Abu Jannah, met with the Chairman of the Medical Insurance Authority Management Committee, Omar Al-Amin, at the Authority’s headquarters in the capital, Tripoli.

 The Ministry of Health stated on its Facebook page today, Monday, that during the meeting, the Authority’s role in repairing the material and moral damages resulting from the professional errors of medical and paramedical staff was reviewed, as well as its role in laying the foundations and rules to establish the foundations of a strong insurance industry in the field of medical liability.

For his part, the Minister of Health stressed during the meeting the need for medical insurance revenues to be allocated to training and developing the skills of medical and paramedical personnel, to reduce medical errors and increase insurance awareness.

Abu Janah referred to the measures taken by the Ministry of Health to oblige health institutions to adhere to the text of Article No. (5) of Presidential Council Resolution No. (1210) of 2018, which stipulates the reorganization of the Medical Insurance Authority, which stipulates that the Authority shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all insurance, reinsurance, and complementary activities against risks arising from the practice of medical professions and related professions, and not to conclude or renew any insurance contracts related to medical liability except with the Medical Insurance Authority.

 The Minister-designate of Health also reviewed the level of equipment of the Authority’s training halls, stressing the Ministry’s keenness to qualify and train health personnel and provide them with the necessary skills and experience to ensure the provision of the necessary health care to citizens.

 During the meeting, the Authority presented a visual presentation on its plan to train medical and paramedical personnel, including the training needs and recommendations necessary for its implementation.
