Coastal Security announces the rescue of 71 migrants of African nationalities.

Tripoli, July 11, 2024 (LANA) - The General Administration of Coastal Security announced today, Thursday, the rescue of 71 migrants of African nationalities on the coast of eastern Tripoli.

The administration said in a statement today, Thursday, that the boat (Wadi Al-Majinin) was able to rescue migrants 25 miles from the coast of Qarabulli after their boat stopped. They are from the countries of (Sudan, Senegal, Togo, Gambia, Nigeria, Guinea, and Ghana).

The statement added that the migrants were detained at the Al-Shaab Port point of the Tripoli branch of the administration, and legal measures were taken against them and they were handed over to the illegal immigration agency in terms of jurisdiction.

The statement of the General Administration of Coastal Security indicated that the Director of the Department, Major General Al-Bashir Al-Nur Suleiman, issued his directives to intensify maritime patrols during the summer to reduce the phenomenon of illegal immigration.
